It has been extremely cold here on the Illinois Prairie. The day I took this photo it was -2 degrees outside. But the sun did put on a grand show as it set across the western horizon.

The northern lights out on quite a show on the evening of November 11. I was down in Kentucky and they were very visible over Lake Barkley. Simply beautiful.

Spring is here in east central Illinois! This storm front rolled through on March 30, 2025. Winds were ferocious and the rain was nearly blinding. This photo was just east of Homer, Illinois.
